The Lightening Thief
Based on a children’s series by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Olympians have found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation accidentally breathing life back into the gods of Mount Olympus. Now why would Astromama be blogging about this? Well first she is cool mama who does her best to stay in the loop with what is hot in her 8 year old’s life, but there is an astrology connection as well. The stories of the Mount Olympus gods and the mythical creatures who help them are the planets and the asteroids used in the science of Astrology.
Now this is not a drama that will send you away with a heightened understanding of life, but it was a fun movie that involved the heavy hitters in Greek mythology and the CGI was top notch. It was a welcome and fun way to offer my daughter an understanding of Greek mythology. We talked about the gods and their stories and made connections to the planets. I am excited by the opportunity to explore through myth, astrology. If you are looking for a fun and basic way to see the gods in action, then I recommend Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief.
