Thoth Deck – Two of Swords – Peace.
Balance. Reconciliation. Dualism. These words evoke a beautiful image in my mind. I see people smiling with their thoughts while walking alone in lavish green fields in modern cities without smog. Ideal situations which have grown out of disharmony, controversy and extremism. That makes me smile; agreements, peace, joy, happiness, love.
Peace is where it all begins. When one finds peace, attaining love, wealth and happiness easily follow. In order to know peace, one must know self. The inner light and dark. Without dualistic knowledge of self, you can not be armed to diffuse and protect yourself or environment from parasites who will feed on well earned energy and success. Parasites come in many forms, some of them are quite disarming and can quickly convince us that they are our friends and have our best interest at hand. All the while they feed on us and bringing disharmony into our spheres.
We find ourselves in a quagmire wondering how we got there, desperate to get back to our valued PEACE. Lacking self-knowledge caused us to misinterpret the bringer of disharmony. “En garde” we scream and once again search our depths for the knowledge which serves as a shield. When we rediscover the duality of our nature and embrace our state with glee, we return to peace. Safe and sound.
